I use the dot-technique of the Australian aborigines to create abstract paintings. This technique gives depth and an organic character to my work. I paint with acrylic paint on canvas and use Chinese chopsticks and skewers to apply the dots.
Creating is a meditative proces that gives positive energy which I try to express in my paintings. Key concepts in my work are balance, structure, letting go and drifting away. The circular shapes and repetition I use contribute to this, as does the dot-technique.
Colours are very important and represent the diversity in the world and the colourfulness of life. The main inspiration for my work are the impressions I gain while traveling.
My name is Milène Evers and I was born in the Netherlands in 1972. Creative expression is an important part of my life. Through the years I've tried different art forms, but my heart is in painting and jewelry making.
In the past I have travelled a lot, that is my other passion. I got fascinated by the dots-technique of the Australian aborigines during a year I spent in Australia. The impressions I gain during my travels are the main inspiration for my work. I enjoy exhibiting my art in exhibitions where there is an international dimension making an exchange of cultures and nationalities possible.
