Lori is inspired by her home on the ocean, the mining of deep emotion, and the constant re-birth and renewal of the colors of nature in Southern California.
Lori graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2015. She commits her life to making the world a more beautiful place. Inspired by the natural beauty of that which surrounds her, she feels invigorated to contribute to a welcoming creative community. She paints abstractly and realistically. Lori paints outdoors with her portable paints and easel in and around the beaches of Malibu. Lori is a member of the Malibu Art Association, the Allied-Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore, and the California Art Club.
Lori Mills is a Malibu fine art oil painter and native Southern Californian. Trained at the San Francisco Art Institute, Lori admires the creative impulses of Vincent Van Gogh – She admires the emotion and the bold use of brush stroke and color found in Van Gogh’s works. Lori’s works are highly personal and she uses a palette knife instead of a paintbrush almost exclusively in her plein air oil paintings.
